Art Grant 2024 Announced

Applications and selection for the Burning Japan 2024 art grants (art scholarships) are complete!

At Burning Japan, art is an essential part of keeping the event’s originality. The art grant is a support program (a scholarship) set up for the development of art at Burning Japan.

■ Art grant budget

The 2024 art grant totals 264,500 yen, based on last year’s ticket purchases and on donations.

*The Burning Japan project has set a rule of using at least 5% of total ticket sales for the art grant, and one of the project goals is to expand both the percentage and the total amount.

■ Summary

This year is double last year, and the largest scale since the project began.

Thank you for the many applications.

At the same time, growth of the art grant funds is still underway. The grant amount offered to each artist this year is smaller, and growing the funds will be an important goal from next time on.

This year, an orientation tour that goes around the works that received grants is also scheduled on each day, so please look forward to it.

It is still at the planning stage, but the orientation is also planned to include introductions of the works by the artists, and photographs and video of the works.

If you could not take part this year, or your application did not make it in time, we look forward to your joining next time.
