Art Grant 2023 Announced!

This year's Art Grant totals 227,100 yen, equal to 5 percent of total ticket sales as confirmed on the selection date, October 26. We reviewed art projects that applied by the 20th.
In the review, along with the scale of each work's production and budget, we also weighed things such as "a first work made for Burning Japan," "a first time at Burning Japan," and "collaboration with a project such as the Phoenix or the Temple." We talked it through so the grant would, as much as possible, leave artists feeling "this actually helps" and "I want to keep making work, and I want to invite someone."
