Event Report: FireJam 2025

On April 19, 2025, we held “FireJam 2025,” a small gathering for fire performers, at Bishamonten Beach on the Miura Peninsula.

The day was blessed with clear weather, and about 20 participants gathered on the shore. Of the nine fire performers, four were new faces joining for the first time. They showed one another their skills and offered advice, and a friendly, high-energy stretch of time went by.

Through the day there was a lot of practice with the tools, teaching one another, and swapping notes on how to train. Talk also flew around about materials, where to buy them, and ideas for making your own, and knowledge was shared freely. It was a rich time for beginners who want to try it from here.

With dusk, the fire performance finally began.

Rings of flame stood out against the dark. Wrapped in music and cheers, each participant faced the fire in their own style. Applause broke out on its own many times, and a stretch of time passed in which the people watching and the people performing could become one.

Families came this time too, and it was striking to see children laughing around the fire.

This FireJam was a meaningful place to practice, to meet, and to exchange information. People looking for a place to perform, people who want to start, people who love fire — we want to keep holding it regularly as a place where each of them can take part with peace of mind.

Thank you, truly, to everyone who came!
