Theme Camp and Art Applications Are Open

Shown in English. Dates and “on sale” lines belong to the day the notice was published.

At Burning Japan, a group planning some kind of offering is called a theme camp. Building a large shade structure for a workshop or a music session, bringing a sound system and DJing — calling these project units for all kinds of expression “theme camps” is a shared keyword in Burning Man culture.

To reserve in advance a lively spot facing the central street, in the wider and flatter theme camp area rather than the solo camping area, please apply with the form below.

Among group projects by participants, you must apply if any of the following apply.
Please apply in the same way for an individual’s work or an installed artwork if it qualifies.
The application is so we can ask you to install and run things safely, and so we can adjust the layout inside the campground in advance.

  • You want to reserve a space of 3 m × 3 m or larger in the theme camp area
  • You want to bring a sound system and play music
  • You want to bring a generator
  • You will use fire or fuel for something other than a campfire or cooking
  • You will burn art or theme camp materials at the end

We would appreciate hearing from you by the first deadline, June 17. The second (final) deadline is planned for after the additional ticket sale.
